1. Terms & Concepts
Q: What is Hop Up?
A: Hop Up is a mechanism that applies backspin to the BB. The backspin straightens and extends the BB’s trajectory, allowing it to travel farther and more accurately.
Most airsoft guns have adjustable Hop Up, so you can tune it based on the BB weight you are using. Hop Up is also known as hop, hopup, Hop-Up.
Q: What is Blowback?
A: Blowback is a feature found in some gas and electric guns where the slide or bolt cycles back and forth during firing, similar to real firearms. This adds realism but may increase wear on certain parts.
Q: What BBs should I use?
A: All our guns use 6 mm BBs (bio or plastic). The BB weight depends on the gun’s power and desired accuracy. As a guideline:
-
under 0.5 J → 0.12 g
-
0.5–1 J → 0.20 g
-
1–1.5 J → 0.25 g
-
1.5–2 J → 0.28–0.35 g
-
2–2.5 J → 0.35–0.40 g
Heavier BBs give better accuracy and stability in more powerful guns.
Q: How long does a biodegradable BB take to decompose?
A: Bio BBs begin to break down when exposed to sunlight, moisture, and warmth. In Finnish climate conditions, full decomposition typically takes 1–2 years.
Keep bio BBs sealed in their bag or bottle to prevent moisture absorption.
Q: Can I use cheap supermarket BBs?
A: We strongly recommend not using them. Low-quality BBs often cause jams or damage your gun. They typically have:
-
visible mold seams
-
uneven or oval shape
-
rough surface
-
bright toy-like colors
Always use high-quality, seamless BBs from trusted brands (e.g., G&G, Marui, Diablo).
Q: How far can an airsoft gun shoot?
A: General effective ranges:
-
spring pistols/rifles: 20–50 m
-
standard AEG (around 1 J): 30–50 m
-
sniper rifles & upgraded guns: 40–70 m
Hop Up adjustment and BB weight affect range as much as power does.
Q: Do airsoft guns work in winter?
A:
-
Gas guns: do not work well below +5°C because gas cannot expand properly.
-
Electric guns: work in cold weather, but batteries and Hop Up buckings suffer from cold → shorter range and lower rate of fire.
-
CO2 guns: usually work better in cold than regular gas guns.
Be aware that plastic parts may become brittle in freezing temperatures.
Q: Do the guns have a warranty?
A: Yes. All products include a 6-month material and manufacturing defect liability, covering defects present at the time of purchase.
Damage caused by wear, misuse, modification, wrong BBs, or poor maintenance is not covered.
Q: Do you accept used guns for trade-in?
A: No, we do not buy used airsoft guns nor accept them as trade-ins.

3. Magazines
Q: Can I use a magazine from another manufacturer?
A:
-
AEG magazines: Most brands follow the Tokyo Marui standard. Many magazines are cross-compatible within the same gun family (e.g., M4, AK), though small fitting differences can occur.
-
Gas & spring guns: Magazines are usually model-specific → different brands’ magazines rarely fit each other.
If unsure, ask us before purchasing.
Q: What is a hicap magazine?
A: A High-Capacity (hicap) magazine holds a large number of BBs. BBs sit inside a reservoir and are fed by a winding wheel at the bottom.
Important: Do not use a speedloader through the feed lips, this can break the magazine.
Q: What is a midcap magazine?
A: A Mid-Capacity (midcap) magazine works like a real magazine with internal spring feeding, but holds more BBs (typically 100–150). No winding is required. They are reliable and quiet.
Q: What is a regular-cap magazine?
A: A Regular-Capacity (regu) magazine holds about 50–80 BBs and is very reliable.
Similar to real-steel capacity depending on the model.
Q: What is a realcap magazine?
A: Real-Capacity (realcap) magazines replicate the real firearm’s capacity, usually 15–50 BBs. Used often in milsim and realism-focused games.
Q: What is a drum or box magazine?
A: These large magazines hold around 500–5000 BBs. Feeding can be:
-
manual winding
-
motorized feeding (button or automatic feeding by trigger pull)
Important: Do not load drum/box magazines with a speedloader via the feed lips, it may break the mechanism.
4. Gun Maintenance
Q: How should I maintain my gun?
A: After each skirmish:
-
Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and soft cloth.
-
Empty BBs from magazines.
-
Charge AEG batteries properly.
-
Apply silicone oil to gas pistol seals.
-
Store CO2 magazines empty; gas magazines should contain a little gas for lubrication.
-
Allow any moisture to evaporate before storing the gun.
Q: What lubricant should I use?
A: Use only pure silicone oil.
Do not use gun oil, WD-40, CRC, or any petroleum-based lubricant – they damage rubber and plastic.
Plastic surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Never submerge your gun in water.
5. Batteries & Charging
Q: What is the difference between NiMH and LiPo batteries?
A:
-
NiMH: Durable, safe for beginners, available in various shapes (mini, large, stick, crane).
-
LiPo: More powerful, smaller, and sensitive to misuse. Requires a LiPo-safe charger.
A 7.4 V LiPo performs similarly to a 9.6 V NiMH.
Q: How many shots can I fire with one battery?
A: A general rule for a standard 1 J AEG:
1 mAh ≈ 1 shot
A 1400 mAh battery = approx. 1400 shots.
Cold weather, gun upgrades, and battery condition affect total shot count.
Q: How long should I charge a battery?
A: Calculation for basic chargers:
Battery capacity (mAh) ÷ charger output (mA) = charge time (hours)
Example: 1400 mAh ÷ 300 mA ≈ 4.6 h
-
Never leave batteries charging unattended.
-
LiPo batteries must only be charged with a LiPo-compatible charger.
-
A warm battery usually indicates a full charge.
Q: Do I need to discharge my battery?
A: No. Modern NiMH and LiPo batteries do not suffer from memory effect.
Q: Should I charge the battery if I’m not using it?
A: Yes. Charge every 3–5 months to avoid deep discharge damage.
LiPo batteries should ideally be stored at storage voltage.
6. Troubleshooting
Q: My gun has weak range. What should I do?
A: Check the following:
-
Clean the inner barrel.
-
Adjust Hop Up correctly.
-
Use the correct BB weight.
Incorrect Hop Up settings are the most common cause of poor range.
Q: My AEG suddenly stopped firing. What now?
A:
-
Check the battery charge.
-
Try another battery if possible.
-
Check the fuse (usually near the battery connector).
-
If the fuse is blown, replace it with the same type.
Do not continue firing if you cannot identify the issue.
Q: The gun fires but no BBs come out. Why?
A:
-
Tap the magazine gently on the sides and bottom.
-
Try shooting upside down. If it feeds upside down, the issue is with the magazine.
-
With hicap magazines, make sure to wind 10–20 seconds.
-
Check for barrel blockage with a cleaning rod.
Low-quality BBs often cause jams.
Q: My gas gun stopped firing. Why?
A:
-
Check that the magazine has gas.
-
Gas guns don’t work well in cold weather (below +5°C).
-
Rapid firing cools the magazine → wait for it to warm up.
Q: The gas gun fires but no BBs come out. Why?
A:
-
Check the magazine for dirt or debris.
-
Ensure the barrel is not blocked.
-
Make sure the gas is strong enough, especially for metal-slide guns.
Q: My spring gun fires but no BB comes out.
A:
-
Check for a jammed BB or blockage.
-
Tap the magazine lightly.
-
Try shooting upside down to test if the magazine is the issue.
Q: My gun makes a strange noise. What should I do?
A: Stop using the gun immediately.
Do not attempt to force it to fire. Contact customer service or a technician.
Q: Can I open or upgrade my gun myself?
A:
-
Opening or modifying the gun voids the 6-month defect liability (unless it’s basic tool-free disassembly, slide removal, Hop Up adjustment, etc.).
-
If unsure, contact a professional technician.
