The SIG Sauer P320 ASP is a 4.5 mm CO₂ air pistol designed to reproduce the size, controls and handling characteristics of the P320 platform. A metal slide, polymer frame and full blowback action provide a mechanical shooting feel suited to recreational and target shooting.

One of the key features of the P320 ASP is SIG Sauer's RPM, or Rapid Pellet Magazine, system. The belt-type magazine holds 30 projectiles, reducing the need for frequent reloading. The semi-automatic action prepares the next projectile after each shot.

The P320 ASP features a rifled steel barrel. SIG Sauer lists the pistol as compatible with both 4.5 mm (.177) pellets and BBs. The rifled barrel is particularly suited to shooting airgun pellets. Pointed pellets should not be used with the RPM magazine system.

The full blowback mechanism cycles the metal slide with every shot and produces a noticeable recoil impulse. This provides a more realistic operating feel than a CO₂ air pistol with a fixed slide.

Power is supplied by a single 12 g CO₂ cartridge. SIG Sauer states a maximum muzzle velocity of 116 m/s with a 7.71 grain pellet, corresponding to approximately 3.4 joules of muzzle energy. Actual velocity and energy vary according to projectile type, temperature and CO₂ pressure.

For aiming, the P320 ASP is equipped with fixed three-white-dot sights. An M1913 Picatinny accessory rail beneath the barrel allows compatible accessories such as a laser sight to be fitted.

The P320 ASP is well suited to target shooting, recreational use and handling practice with a P320-style platform. Its 30-round magazine, blowback action and rifled steel barrel combine extended shooting sessions with a realistic operating feel.
