The Umarex Ruger SR1911 Competition is a licensed 4.5 mm CO₂ air pistol based on the classic 1911 platform with several competition-inspired details. Its contrasting black and silver finish, full-metal construction and functional controls give the pistol a substantial and realistic feel for recreational target shooting.

The pistol is powered by one 12 g CO₂ cartridge and fires 4.5 mm steel BBs. Its blowback system cycles the slide with every shot, adding mechanical movement and feedback to the shooting experience. After the final BB has been fired, the slide remains locked to the rear. The 19-round magazine is complemented by an enlarged magazine well that helps guide the magazine into place during reloads.

A Single Action trigger system is combined with a straight, skeletonized competition-style trigger for a short and defined trigger pull. The skeletonized Commander-style hammer continues the sporting theme, while aggressively textured grip panels provide a secure hold.

For aiming, the SR1911 Competition uses a fiber-optic front sight together with a fully adjustable rear sight. This allows the sight picture to be tuned to the shooter and shooting distance. A traditional thumb safety and functional beavertail grip safety provide the familiar controls associated with the 1911 design.
