The VFC FMG9 is a gas blowback airsoft replica built around an unusual folding design. When deployed, it functions as a compact SMG-style airsoft gun, while the entire platform folds into a much smaller case-like format for storage and transport.
The FMG9 runs on Green Gas and uses a full gas blowback operating system. Fire controls include safe, semi-auto and full-auto modes. An adjustable hop-up allows the trajectory to be tuned for different BB weights and playing conditions.
The construction combines metal, aluminium and polymer components. This keeps the overall weight at approximately 1.2 kg while retaining a robust GBB mechanism. The replica measures approximately 490 mm when deployed and around 250 mm when folded.
The magazine holds 45 BBs. The FMG9 uses magazines compatible with VFC and Umarex G17-pattern gas pistols, making it particularly practical for players who already use compatible VFC Glock magazines.
A 14 mm CCW muzzle thread allows compatible airsoft barrel accessories to be fitted. The integrated carrying handle forms part of the folding design and makes the replica easier to handle when it is in its compact configuration.
Its short deployed length, folding construction and full-auto capability make the FMG9 particularly well suited to CQB environments where compact dimensions are useful. At the same time, the GBB system provides the moving action and mechanical feedback associated with gas-powered airsoft replicas.
For reliable operation, keep the seals and moving parts lightly lubricated, use gas suitable for the ambient temperature and inspect magazine valves and seals regularly.
