The G&G L85A1 is a British Army origin, special design, odd looking workhorse. The weapon was designed to replace the British Army old FAL L1A1 assault rifle. The L85 development started in the 1960s and the first batch was introduced in the mid-1980s. Due to the design of the rifle, the total length of the gun is relatively short with compared to fact that the gun has a long barrel. This design is meant to improve the accuracy because the magazine is located behind the trigger.
The weapon has been seen in the Persian Gulf, Balkans, and later in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. L85 is also appearing in most of the new video games, because of it's special design and unique looks.
The G&G L85a1 field stripping is possible with out any tools, just like the real rifle. The rifle feels solid, heavy and comfortable even from with its plastic handles. Like it's real life counter piece, almost all parts are made of metal, except for plastic rigid polymeric grips and handguards. Even though the weapon is heavy, it is still delightful to handle, as the weight of the gun is nicely distributed throughout the whole chassis because of the bullpup structure. The weapon uses normal AEG magazines that are the same with M4, M16, M15 etc.
